Social Justice Activism

Jews are God's partner in completing creation through acts of tikkun olam, repairing the world. Prior to starting at HUC, I was a Legislative Assistant at the Religious Action Center, the Reform Movement's social justice and advocacy organization. In Cincinnati, I was a rabbinic fellow at the Jewish Community Relations Council and a lead organizer with Bend the Arc's local chapter where our campaigns centered dismantling racism, antisemitism, and all forms of hate.

March for Our Lives

On February 14, 2018, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL, became yet another location of another mass shooting. Seventeen people were killed, including my camper from URJ Camp Coleman, Alyssa Alhadeff.

In the weeks and months that followed, I became very involved in the burgeoning March for Our Lives movement. I helped plan, coordinate, and lead the Reform Movement's participation in the March for Our Lives in Washington D.C. in March 2018. Additionally, I partnered with then Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her staff to support the National School Walkout, leading a delegation of nearly 100 Members of Congress to join thousands of students for a rally in Washington D.C.

This moment was a major turning point in my decision to purse the rabbinate. I am proud of the work that I did, and have grown significantly since in these past five years.
